PROC-007

Client Requires Changes to a Design (Logo, Flyer, etc.)

Questions to ask the customer:

  • What type of design needs changes (logo, flyer, banner, business card, menu, packaging)?
  • What is the exact change requested (text, colors, layout, size, images, icons, wording)?
  • Where will this be used (print, Instagram, website, ads)? What size/format do you need?
  • Do you have the source files (AI/PSD/Figma/Canva) or only an image/PDF?
  • Do you want the same style preserved or a refreshed/new direction?
  • Is there a deadline (event date, campaign launch, print date)?

Procedures:

  • Confirm scope: summarize all requested changes in one message (to avoid back-and-forth and missed items).
  • Collect inputs: request text (exact wording), brand colors, logos, images, references, and output size requirements.
  • Confirm file availability: if source files are missing, explain that recreating the file may be required (additional time/cost).
  • Define deliverables: confirm formats (PNG/JPG/PDF + source file if included), and if print-ready is needed (CMYK, bleed, 300 DPI).
  • Create a first revision: apply changes while maintaining brand consistency and correct alignment/spacing.
  • Quality check: spelling, contrast/readability, correct dimensions, safe margins, and export settings for the intended use.
  • Send preview for approval: share a low-res preview or mockup and request a single consolidated feedback list.
  • Finalize and export: deliver final files in requested formats, labeled clearly (v1, v2, final).
  • Archive and document: store source + exports in the project folder and note what was changed and when.

Priorities:

  • High (1h): Urgent corrections for live ads, public-facing mistakes (wrong price/date), or print deadlines within 24 hours.
  • Medium (1 day): Standard edits with a reasonable deadline (text swap, resizing, minor layout adjustments).
  • Low (2 days): Non-urgent improvements, optional variations, or redesign requests without a fixed deadline.
